From diary entries
to actionable insights
Remissio doesn't guess. It runs Fisher's exact tests across every food, lifestyle, and symptom pair you've logged — then corrects for false discoveries using the Benjamini-Hochberg method. What you see below are example results from a simulated 39-day IBD tracking scenario.
Example findings
These three pairs had the highest weighted scores in the demo dataset — ranked by effect size × sample size.
Short sleep (<6h) → Fatigue
+67%82% on days with short sleep (<6h) vs 15% without
5.5× risk (CI 3.1–9.7) · same day · n=11d
Dairy → Cramping
+48%62% on days with dairy vs 14% without
4.4× risk (CI 2.1–9.3) · same day · n=18d
Stress / low mood → Cramping
+44%58% on days with stress / low mood vs 14% without
4.1× risk (CI 2–8.5) · same day · n=16d

Feature × Symptom Correlation Heatmap
Each cell shows the Δ rate between days with and without that feature. Red = higher symptom risk. Blue = protective.
What's under the hood
Fisher's exact test
For each feature–symptom pair and lag (0, 1, 2 days), Remissio builds a 2×2 contingency table: days with feature vs. without, crossed with days the symptom appeared. Fisher's exact test gives an exact p-value — no approximation needed even for small samples.
Benjamini-Hochberg FDR correction
Testing dozens of pairs inflates false positives. BH correction controls the false discovery rate, adjusting each p-value into a q-value. Only pairs with q<0.05 and |Δ|≥10% are surfaced — the rest are noise.
Weighted ranking
Significant pairs are ranked by |Δ| × √n — effect size scaled by sample size. This pushes patterns that are both large and well-evidenced to the top, and keeps single-day flukes from dominating.
This is observational, not causal. Correlation between dairy and cramping doesn't prove dairy causes your cramping. Use these findings as hypotheses to discuss with your gastroenterologist, not as a prescription to eliminate food groups.
